The Greatest Generation

Not sure what quite to make of it, but as far as I can remember I have been obsessed with the WWII Generation and that era. I don't know why but when I go to sleep at night I often dream of that time frame in very detailed accounts. It's hard to explain but whenever something of World War II comes on the History Channel I watch it not as a learning experience but as if I'm remembering.
Somehow the past few months Jaxon and I have made it a ritual to watch the Walton's reruns on INSP Channel before his afternoon nap, and today was no different. The episode was about December 7th. 1941. If you are not aware of the meaning of that date it was the day Japan attacked Pearl Harbor Naval base. I felt so many emotions come over me, and many pictures came into mind as if once again I was remembering something that took place thirty three years before I was born!
One thing I have to say is as I see these Occupy protests taking place, and the Liberal agenda unfolding before our eyes it has dawned on me that the Nazi Regime that we fought during the Great War is very, very similar to the administration running the county, and the Liberal Youth that have found it entertaining to protest everything that is good about this county, are very similar to those that were sucked into the Nazi Propaganda that lead up to WWII.
I think about the brave men and women that have shed blood, lost limbs, suffered emotional stress like none of us could possibly understand unless we have been there, and yes lost lives. The American Flag has three colors, Red- represents the blood that has been shed from the beginning of the Colonies, until present time in the war on terror. Red- hardiness & valour  Americans since the very beginning of the original 13 colonies have endured great strife, hardships, famine, drought, the Great Depression, TWO World Wars, and farmers armed with hunting rifles and pitch forks defeated at that time the most powerful Army in the world.  Whitesignifies purity and innocence, contrary to what Liberals believe this IS One Nation Under God! Bluethe color of the Chief (the broad band above the stripes) signifies vigilance, perseverance & justice. This is the part that I struggle with the most having a "Chief" that does NOT love his Country, and supports domestic terrorism in the Occupy Protests.
It's quite possible that there will never be another generation like the WWII Generation, but the fact that we are the complete Opposite brings not only a tear to the eye, and a heavy Heart, but a longing to go back in time and be part of that Generation that struggled, pulled together, looked out for one another and defeated Germany, Italy, and Japan, not just our Military but every single man, woman, and child at home.  "Rosey the Riveter" more then likely will never be a symbol of pride again.

  1. Oh she's a symbol of American pride to me. My family and I love the Walton's ......we catch it on GMC and Insp. Good American Values. And you're right on point about the Anti-American attitudes. These occupy protests show how ungrateful these people are for the freedom that many died for. They are playing right into the hands of those who would dismantle America in a heartbeat if they get the chance. Good thoughts Ryan. My sentiment exactly.
